Gerardo Menegaz is a chief technologist in the financial service sector for IBM’s global technology services. He is an advisory board member and adjunct professor for the data science and business analytics graduate school program at Saint Peter’s University. He brings with him more than 20 years of IT leadership experience, formulating strategies and exploiting proprietary technologies in fast-paced, challenging environments.
At IBM, Menegaz is responsible for overall strategy and architecture, including improving service quality, reducing cost base, improving service value, assisting with delivery of contracted commitments, driving account growth, managing relationships with key client technical staff. Additionally, he is charged with improving customer satisfaction, ensuring the quality of architecture and consulting services input to clients and managing client satisfaction with IBM solutions and architecture.
Before joining IBM, Menegaz was the vice president, Investment Management, Asset and Wealth Management, Alternative Investments with JP Morgan where he endeavored to implement solutions for the financial services sector; specializing in application integration, straight through processing, core/common data, asset management, wealth management, portfolio management, trading, compliance, settlement, middle office, accounting, risk and finance functions.
In addition, he is a published author and recognized industry analyst who has published articles for CBS Interactive web outlets such as ZDNet.com and writes articles for IBM's Thoughts on Cloud blog. His expertise focuses on evolving business strategies across multiple industries as well as emerging technologies (e.g., cloud computing, mobile (BYOD), big data, analytics, social media), as well as data center topics (e.g. server consolidation, virtualization, and optimization technologies, methodologies, application rationalization, and logical consolidation techniques). He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara and is fluent in Spanish.
