GLORIA MONTEALEGRE, DEPUTY PRESS SECRETARY FOR NJ STATE GOVERNOR CORZINE TO SPEAK AT SPC

The event will take place Wednesday, October 24th at noon in Pope Lecture Hall. All are invited to attend. Sponsored by LASO and LALS. Gloria Montealegre is currently the Deputy Press Secretary for NJ State Governor Jon S. Corzine where she is in charge of all foreign press, including Latino and Community press. She is a professional in the field of communications with a strong press experience of more than 25 years. Most recently, Mrs. Montealgre directed the Latino Press outreach for Senator Bob Menendez. Previously, she has distinguished herself as being the first female on-air reporter at WNJU-TV Channel 47 Telemundo, where she reported on the issues affecting Latinos related to health, housing, education, transportation, family, and entertainment. She is a graduate of Rutgers University NCAS with a Masters and an undergraduate degree. She is married and a proud mother of two children. Her message to young Latinos is to get a skill, join a professional organization related to your career choice, keep your language and your culture and always give back to your community.
