KENNETH LEWIS PAYNE APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE & BUSINESS

Kenneth Lewis Payne has been appointed Vice President for Finance and Business, effective August 11, 2008. Kenneth Payne has an extensive professional background in financial management and leadership at several colleges and universities and at non-profit organizations. He began his career as Business Manager for seven years at The Ohio State University. Subsequent higher education positions included Assistant Director of Business and Financial Affairs at the University of Illinois, Director of Financial Planning and Management for Illinois State University, and Associate Vice President for Business and Finance at Morehouse College. In these various positions Kenneth was responsible for fiscal planning, designing and managing budget systems, developing methods for financing facility purchases and renovations, and supervising the offices of the controller, bursar, and grants and contracts. In addition to his higher education experiences, Kenneth has worked in non-profit organizations, including a six-year tenure at CARE, International, Inc. At CARE, he first served as Treasurer where he was responsible for financial strategies worldwide, and later as Chief Investment Officer, directing and managing investments of $1 billion in endowment, trusts, operating, and employee benefit funds. A New York City resident, Kenneth Payne holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Governors State University of Illinois and a BA in Finance and Economics from The Ohio State University.
