SAINT PETER’S COLLEGE STUDENT RECEIVES 2006 MR. & MRS. A SPARKS REGIONAL COLLEGIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

Saint Peter’s College senior Aimee Raganit of Jersey City received the 2006 Mr. & Mrs. Sidney A. Sparks Regional Collegian of the Year Award.  The Regional Collegian of the Year Award is presented annually to outstanding collegiate members of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity devoted to the study of business.  The award recognizes personal and academic achievement, leadership, service and fraternal commitment.    Raganit received a $400 award from the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation.   
 
An Accounting Major with Business Law and Finance Minors, Raganit will work at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as an associate starting in the fall.   She has been an active member of Delta Sigma Pi since 2003She has served as chapter president and vice president for chapter operations and professional activitiesAfter graduation, she plans to study for her CPA exam. 
 
Raganit took a leadership role in numerous activities and organizations during her academic career at Saint Peter’s College.  She served as president of the Student Alumni Association, was a member Alpha Sigma Nu (the Honor Society of Jesuit Institutions of Higher Education), Circle K (Kiwanis Affiliated Service Organization), Accounting Society, Student Senate, and Asian American Student Union.
 
In addition, Raganit received numerous honors and recognitions.  She received Best Speaker and the Excellence Award:  Most Likely to Succeed from the Existing Leaders Program.  She received the Gold Key and the Blue Key from the College’s Order of the Cross Keys.  Blue and Gold Keys are awarded to students who show outstanding leadership, service, scholarship and character. 
 
Saint Peter's College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Founded in 1872, Saint Peter's has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in Jersey City and a branch campus, specializing in adult education, is located in Englewood Cliffs.
