The Women’s Studies Program will host several events in honor of Women’s History Month. For further information, please contact Marilyn Cohen at or call 201.761.6156. The events include:

  • Monday, March 12 – Friday, March 16: Mass of Thanksgiving in celebration of the 40th anniversary of women’s full time enrollment at Saint Peter’s will be held on Thursday, March 15, at noon in the Chapel of Saint Peter. Dr. Eileen Poiani, Vice President for Student Affairs, will reflect on her tenure at SPC and experience as the first female professor in the Department of Mathematics. Fr. Edward Heavey, S.J., will preside. The Mass is co-sponsored by FOCUS and Campus Ministry.
  • Monday, March 19 – Friday, March 23 will celebrate women in Sports/Workforce. Alumna Maria Pepe ‘82 will discuss Breaking the Gender Barrier in Little League Baseball on March 19 at 10 a.m. in Pope Lecture Hall.
  • Several events will take place the week of Monday, March 26 – March 30. The Poetry Café will be held on March 26 in Jazzman’s Café. The Women’s Contributions to Knowledge Poster Display will be on exhibit on March 28 at noon in the quad. Stephanie Urdang will discuss After the Genocide: Women Coping with HIV/AIDS in Rwanda on March 29 at noon in Pope Lecture Hall.
