DR. BRIAN C. McCARTHY '82 TO DELIVER ANNUAL MENDEL LECTURE ON APRIL 12

Dr. Brian C. McCarthy ‘82 will be the featured speaker at the 56th Annual Mendel Lecture on Thursday, April 12 at 4 p.m. in Pope Lecture Hall. His talk is entitled History, Ecology, and Restoration of the Nearly Extinct American Chestnut.
 
Dr. McCarthy received his BA in Biology from Saint Peter’s College, an MS in Botany at Ohio University in 1984 and a Ph.D. from Rutgers University. He is a professor in the Environmental and Plant Biology Department at Ohio University.
 
The Mendel Lecture is the longest running lecture series in the College’s history. This year’s event is co-sponsored by the Biology Department and the Mendel Biology Society, a student-run organization, and will take place in the Pope Lecture Hall on the Jersey City campus.
