SPC TO HOST 7TH ANNUAL DOYLE CRIMINAL JUSTICE CONFERENCE

The Criminal Justice Department at Saint Peter’s College will host the Seventh Annual Stephen D. Doyle Criminal Justice Conference on Thursday, April 12 at 10 a.m. in McIntyre.The conference, named after Stephen D. Doyle, Professor Emeritus of Sociology,is open to the general public.
 
A panelof Essex County prosecutors will lead a panel discussion, Priorities in an Overwhelmed System, at 10 a.m. Newark Police Director Garry F. McCarthy will discuss Reducing Crime in an Urban Center at 11 a.m. McCarthy joined the New York City Police Department in in 1981. He rose through the ranks and commanded three precincts. McCarthy was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Operations in 1999. In September of 2006, McCarthy was named director of the Newark Police Department.
