Bruce B. Rosenthal, Ph.D., KPMG Founding Dean of Saint Peter's University School of Business
Dr. Rosenthal is an extraordinary educator and businessman whose experiences in the classroom and on Wall Street have prepared him to help lead Saint Peter's University School of Business to the next level of excellence and success.
Dr. Rosenthal has an impressive track record in both the corporate and higher education sectors, both domestically and internationally, with 30+ years of experience as a businessman and entrepreneur - 20 of those years outside the United States - as well as nearly 14 years of experience as an administrator and faculty member in higher education. He is also fluent in spoken and written Japanese, with a strong knowledge of the Japanese business culture and negotiation techniques as well as strong relationships with Japanese academia.
He previously served as director of the School of Business at Alfred University in Alfred, NY where he established a direction for the School of Business that included an emphasis on sustainable business and inter-disciplinary programs. In addition, he created and implemented the first Sustainable Business Symposia, which featured executives from top companies, such as Coca-Cola, Walmart and Wegman’s, as featured panelists.
Prior, Dr. Rosenthal served as the director and chair of business programs at Chatham University in Pittsburgh - where he also instituted a sustainable business concentration for the M.B.A. program - as well as the director of the graduate program in pharmaceutical business and director of international programs for the Mayes College of Healthcare Business and Policy at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. He has also held a number of roles in the corporate sector at a variety of organizations including Dow Jones/Telerate (DJ/T) Japan, Merrill Lynch and Arlington Medical Research, Inc., among others. . He has also spent 8 years as an entrepreneur, living in Europe and shuttling back and forth between Europe and Asia.
Dr. Rosenthal earned his B.F.A. from Syracuse University, his M.B.A. from Rutgers University and his Ph.D. from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. While working for Merrill Lynch he also earned his NASD Series 7 securities broker license.
