Saint Peter's Alumni Recruiting Corps

Saint Peter's Alumni Recruiting Corps

About the SPARC Program

As an alumnus/alumna of Saint Peter's College, you have a very personal perspective on why a high school student would want to attend this College. Depending on when you graduated from Saint Peter's, you have a different memory attached to your time on-campus. Perhaps a graduate or family member who attended SPC reached out to you during your college search process, and his encouraging words helped you make your final decision. You know what a difference a personal connection can make.

We are inviting you to share your enthusiasm of your Saint Peter's experience with students who are in the trenches of the college search process. The Saint Peter's Alumni Recruiting Corps is comprised of alumni in various regions of the country who volunteer to help the College in the recruitment process. You can choose your level of involvement in the program based on your availability.

The SPARC program was created in 2006 to:

• Increase the number of qualified students considering Saint Peter's in the application process

• Continue to grow awareness of the College in out-of-state markets

• Increase the number of students applying and attending Saint Peter's

How can you help?
There are many ways you can help in the recruitment efforts of qualified students to the College. You can place yourself on a spectrum of activities.
Student Referrals
These referrals identify high school students to whom SPC materials should be sent. If you know of any students from either your community, church, school, children of friends or associates, please feel free to submit their name and address to the Office of Admission.
College Fairs
Each fall and spring admission counselors attend college fairs held in high schools in areas around the country. Because our counselors are unable to attend every fair, SPARC members will be asked to attend a college fair or college night in their area. SPC materials and training will be provided for each volunteer. The college fair is a chance to meet potential students and parents, while relaying a personal account of the Saint Peter's experience.  Click here for a list of college fairs where we need your help!
Phone Calling
Beginning in August and continuing through October, each interested SPARC member will receive the names of up to ten prospective students from his or her hometown. This will allow the volunteer to answer any questions the student might have and to encourage the student to apply. In the spring, each volunteer will receive up to ten accepted students to call to encourage them to enroll in the College. Sometimes a personal conversation with a student becomes the deciding factor on why SPC is the right choice.
Receptions and Send-offs
The Office of Admission and the Office of Alumni Relations are starting a program for friends of the College to host receptions and summer parties for prospective and incoming students in regional locations. SPARC members from those areas will be asked to host, participate and/or attend these events. If a student can associate friendly and sometimes familiar faces with the College, their first year experience will be much more rewarding.

Join SPARC today by completing the online registration form. We will follow up with more details on this wonderful opportunity to continue the College's Jesuit tradition of "Educating Men and Women for Others.”
