About the Keynote Speaker

Thomas P. Mac Mahon ’68 has been cited by Forbes magazine (2004) and the Harvard Business Review (2010) as one of the best performing CEOs in the world. He was LabCorp's chairman and chief executive officer from 1997 to 2006 and a director from 1996 to 2013.  LabCorp is the largest medical testing company in the world, with revenues of approximately $12 billion and more than 61,000 employees worldwide, performing in excess of two million tests per day. The company’s mission is to improve health and improve lives by delivering world-class diagnostics, accelerating the availability of innovative medicines to patients and using technology to change the way health care is delivered.  

 

Prior to joining LabCorp, Tom was senior vice president of Hoffmann-La Roche Inc., president of Roche Diagnostics Group and a member of the executive committee of Hoffmann-La Roche.

 

Tom was a member of the Board of Directors of Express Scripts from 2001-09 and served as the lead outside director from 2008-19. Tom is a member of the Board of Directors of Ortho Clinical Diagnostics and previously served as the chairman of the PharMerica Corporation. He has been a consultant to Verily Life Sciences, the Google healthcare company, and executive partner of the venture capital group, Flare Capital Partners.   

 

Tom also serves on the boards of multiple non-profit organizations, including as a member of the Board of Trustees at Saint Peter’s University since 2006, during which time he also served as chair of the Board. His transformational philanthropic gift to Saint Peter’s resulted in the building of Saint Peter’s first student center, the Mac Mahon Student Center.

 

Tom earned a B.S. in marketing from Saint Peter’s and a M.B.A. in marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
