What you need:
• 2 devices
Device A: A device where you can play an audio file
Device B: A device that can record video (tablet, iPad, smart phones, laptops or desktops)
Printed sheet music of The Road Not Taken, Brothers, Sing On! (If you have not memorized the piece) and Go, Tell it on the Mountain.
• Do not add reverb to your vocal track.
Make sure your face is well lit. Try to face a lamp or window so the light is falling on your face.
Attire
• The Road Not Taken and Brothers, Sing On
Tie (any color) and jacket for men
Black top for the women
• Go, Tell it on the Mountain
You can wear any Saint Peter’s apparel or solid-colored tops
Minimize background noise. Turn off air conditioners, heaters, fans and other noisy appliances. Close windows to eliminate outside noise. We just want to hear your voice.
Two important notes:
1. Turn on your video recorder first (Device B).
2. Make sure your headphones on Device A are unplugged when you start to play the demo, we need to hear the “beep” in your recording to sync it up to everyone
else’s recording. But then, be sure to plug your headphones back in before you are
about to sing so your recording does not pick up the rest of the demo recording. If using only one earphone, be sure you are using the one where you can hear the vocal recording.
Once your recording is finished, label your video file like this example:
